BOOKKEEPING SPECIALS: For small businesses needing a qualified and experienced public accountant, look no further. I can set up your entire accounting system on Quick Books, monthly enter all your business' transactions, and prepare your company's tax returns at year end - all at a very affordable price and considerably less than what a regional CPA firm would charge you for my level of expertise and experience. I can even help you with incorporation or set up a Nevada LLC (call me to discuss the income tax, liability protection, and asset protection implications of entity selections for your businesses).
INTERNATIONAL CLIENTS: If you are immigrating to the U.S., or are an alien holding a business visa with business operations in the U.S. and/or abroad, or if you are a U.S. resident or citizen with foreign corporations ("Controlled Foreign Corporations CFC"), trusts or partnerships, or if you simply invested in stocks of a foreign natural resource or mineral mine company (potential "Passive Foreign Investment Companies PFICs"), you need to contact me to discuss the U.S. income and estate tax implications as soon as possible. You would lose the ability to minimize your tax and limit your tax penalty exposures if you did not first consult an experienced international and U.S. tax professional before you arrange for financing of a U.S. or foreign business operation, or obtain a green card, or purchase those stocks in a potential PFIC. Many tax elections can only be made in the year these transactions occur and not on an amended tax return filed after the deadline.
ACCOUNTING PROJECTS, CONSULTING, AUDITING: I also have an audit background and am willing to be hired on a per project basis, whether you needed a sharp accountant to analyze or reconcile complex accounting issues, or prepare a job cost analysis by profit center, or the cost-benefit analysis of certain management or investment decisions, or a part-time or temporary CFO/Controller. Although I am not a certified fraud specialist, some companies have found it beneficial simply to have an auditor come in to their place of business regularly to do some testing of transactions or testing of internal controls (special consulting engagements) even though they do not need a full set of audited financial statements.
RETIREMENT PLANNING, WEALTH MANAGMENT: I am not an investment broker, but I can take a comprehensive review of your personal and business assets and recommend specific tax advantaged retirement plans, insurance products, or trusts that you can set up to do a number of things, including: saving for retirement, obtaining current income tax deductions, saving for children's college fund, asset protection, and/or estate tax minimization etc.
If you are interested in this type of service, I recommend you allow me to prepare all of your personal and business tax returns because having a good tax savings or asset protection strategy is only half the work, the proper execution in the exact order is also crucial.
OTHER TRADITIONAL TAX SERVICES: I prepare consolidated corporate tax returns, multi-state unitary business tax returns, or any type of entity (partnerships, LLCs, trusts, non-profits) or individual income or estate tax returns. I represent clients before the IRS and have had a track record of successfully abating penalties, interest, and obtaining favorable rulings based on technical merits of the tax issues.
Estate tax returns: Unless the decedent's Gross Estate (excluding debts) is more than the remaining exemption amount (applicable exclusion is $2 million for 2007 & 2008, $3.5 million for 2009) as of the date of death, the estate may not need to file an estate tax return. However, you may still need a tax accountant's help to split the assets in the estate and fund the subtrusts inside the Living Trust. Failure to find knowledgeable help could result in a Surviving Spouse not having any money to live on, or the Exemption Trust not fully funded, or IRA account not properly rolled over or disclaimed, etc.
